Arch 22

On July 22nd 1994 Banjul was the scene of a military coup.

Arch 22 was built to commemorate this event and is an entrance portal to the capital of Banjul.

The gate is 35 metres tall and the centre is an open square. You tour guide will tell you all the details as he takes you round the square and small museum located at the top of the building.

Tourists can take the lift or climb the stairs for a panoramic view of Banjul from the balcony at the top.
